About Barbara Beachley

Founder

Founder

I founded Beachley Leadership and Culture to support leaders and educators doing complex, meaningful work—and to help organizations align their values with daily practice. My perspective is shaped by more than two decades across independent schools, nonprofit leadership, governance, international consulting, and survey research.

Professional Background

I have served as Interim Head of School in independent schools, managing leadership transition, enrollment decline, and cultural challenges; Academic Dean, world language teacher, coach, and advisor; Senior Consultant, Executive Director of Organizational Learning and Development, and Director of Survey Research at Independent School Management (ISM); and Trustee on a nonprofit Board.

I am a national presenter and co-author of Comprehensive Faculty Development: A Guide to Attract, Retain, Develop, Reward, and Inspire (published by ISM, Inc.), with extensive experience supporting leadership development, culture, faculty and staff evaluation, and professional growth.

What Others Say

“I have had the pleasure of working with Barbara in multiple capacities, and her impact is always profound. She is an engaging presenter who makes research and best practices accessible and inspiring. Barbara is more than a consultant; she is a dedicated partner in organizational excellence.” — Stephanie Keaney, Executive Director of NCAIS

Beyond Work

I live in Delaware with my two rescue pups, Tidbit and Smidgen, and enjoy yoga, reading, drumming, and exploring new cities and vegan restaurants.
